Type 1100 Sinoma jumbo-sized fused silica crucible succeeds in the trial matching recently. It was designed for the biggest furnace in the world which with capacity of 800 KG. Thus Sinoma Group reached an important milestone on the roadmap of the technology development for fused silica crucible, and made new contribution to lower the poly-silicon production cost as well the sustainable development of the PV industry.

    This new type crucible was specially designed according to the requirements of our strategic partner LDK Solar Co., Ltd on the basis of the batch production of Type 900C which with capacity of 500KG and it is the biggest crucible in the world. It can produce 800KG silicon ingot (the first ingot produced was 660KG) and comparing to the normal Type 900A which produce 450KG ingot, yields can be increased 77.8%.

    Fused silica crucible serves as a container for loading poly-silicon material in the process of solar poly-silicon ingot growth under the high temperature of 1550 ℃. Because of its rigorous working condition and high technical performance requirements, it is irreplaceable key consumable material in the process of multi-crystalline silicon ingot growth, and only few companies in France、America and Japan can produce and mostly by traditional slip-casting technology. The main specifications are Type 720A for 270KG ingot and Type 900A for 450KG ingot.

Jiangxi Sinoma is the only producer of fused silica crucible by gel-casting technology which is developed and owned by Sinoma. The gel-casting crucible is with high original strength and unique structure so that the technology has incomparable advantages in producing the large-sized products.

    These years, many countries published policies for supporting the development of PV industry. They devote major efforts to developing solar energy and at the same time set greatly lowering the solar power conversion cost as an aim. As the main material of solar cells production, wafer’s price is reducing under great pressure. Accordingly, increasing the single furnace yield in ingot casting has already become an efficient method for cost down besides lowering the production cost of poly-silicon raw material. Consequently, the specification and weight of poly-silicon ingot increased from 270KG to 450KG and 500KG, and the matched crucible specification developed from 720A to 900A and 900C as well.
